Past Oiler Neil Holland Drafted
Neil Holland, part of the 2008 Playoff Championship Oilers team, has been
taken by the Washington Nationals in the 2010 Major League draft. Neil went 4-0
in as many starts in the 2008 regular season, averaging 6 innings a start. His
season ERA was a sparkling 0.75. Neil continued to be a vital part of the
University of Louisville's pitching staff. He has a promising career ahead of
him, and the entire Owensboro Oilers organization congratulates Neil on his
ticket to the next part of the journey.

This season fans can travel with the team to certain away games. We are offering 12 seats per trip on a first-come-first-serve basis for a round-trip fare of $10.00 per person (admission and concessions are not included). Departures will be from the Erdmann Corporation parking lot (2812 Kentronics Dr. in Owensboro), but the prompt departure times will vary according to the destinations. The available dates, destinations and departure times are: 6/2/10 to Fulton, 1:45 PM; 6/9 to Dawson Springs, 3:15 PM; 6/16 to Marion, 3:15 PM; 6/17 to Marion, 3:15 PM; 6/26 to Nashville, 8:15 AM; 7/9 to Fulton, 1:45 PM; 7/14 to Dawson Springs, 3:15 PM; 7/15 to Dawson Springs, 3:15 PM; 7/19 to Fulton, 1:45 PM; 7/21 to Marion, 3:15 PM; and 7/22 to Marion, 3:15 PM
Independence Weekend Special Events
Don't miss the two special events coming up to celebrate the nation's independence with the national pastime. Saturday, July 3rd, is our Baseball and Bombers Bash. Enjoy a plate of barbecue and take in our doubleheader against the Tradewater Pirates (@ 2 PM), and stay for a concert by the Velvet Bombers (after the DH). Then on Sunday, July 4th, the 2010 KIT League All-Stars will come to Owensboro to face their counterparts from the TSCBA teams. Come watch an All-Star home run derby (@4 PM) and the All-Star Game itself (@ 6PM). The All-Star festivities will take place at Apollo High School, to accommodate the expected crowd. These special events are not included in the Oilers season ticket packages. Admission July 3rd is $12 at the gate, but $10 from our online store. Admission July 4th is $6, but $5 online.
